Build your very own Doppler radar
Wanna play traffic cop? Think the local weather personality is lying and want to forecast your own weather? Or maybe you`re just a budding mad scientist.
Well, MIT's OPENCOURSEWARE might just have the thing for you. MIT`s open education initiative offers a free online course and that will help you build this mini Doppler radar set, including basic theory of operation and other resources. Actually your coffee can Doppler radar probably won't be powerful enough to track precipitation (I know it`s sad), but it should make a half decent speedometer, and you might find some other cool uses for it.
